The other day, it was looking like ick, so I decided to bleach it, which I do every couple weeks, and is probably one of the reasons it looks so tired and worn out.
Unfortunately, when I went to take it out of the washer, I discovered that the rubber backing was all falling off, and the entire drum of the watching machine was filled with what looked like nasty confetti. So, I decided that it was clearly time to order a new one! You all know how much I love online shopping, so this was a great excuse for me to sit down and spend a little quality time with my laptop.
I couldn't find a new bathmat in the same colour that we had before (a kinda sage'y green), but I did fine a beautiful "Bermuda Blue" colour. I'm still missing Mexico like crazy, so I think that might be part of the reason I was drawn to the gorgeous tropical colour.
Of course, Bermuda Blue does not go well with sage'y green, which is what colour our shower curtain also is. So, I figured I better get a new matching shower curtain as well.
And then I realized that most of our towels also match our current shower curtain and bathmat, so obviously I would have to order at least 1 new towel for the towel rack too. Better make it 2 actually becasue one always seems to be in the laundry!
And then I started thinking, hmmm... new bathmat, new shower curtain, new towels... bet the bathroom would look awesome with a fresh coat of paint in a new colour too!
Quickly my little $20 shopping spree had turned into a more then $100 + lotsa time and paint face lift.
And then I decided this all just sounded like too damn much work and money, and my little shopping spree went from fun to annoying.
So I emptied my shopping card, and I didn't buy a thing... Clearly I have issues.
I've decided that I can get away with just the bathmat. And shower curtain. And 1 towel. No paint job.... yet! So I'm going to go order that now. Wish me luck that I don't turn another molehill into a mountain!
In other news, tomorrow is Valentine's Day, so Growly Bear and I made some Red Velvet Cake-Cups for my hubby. We didn't have much red food colouring, so we had to improvise, and ended up something more like Burgundy Velvet Cake-Cups. They were still delicious though. I highly recommend them.
Love and Hugs!
