First off, I should state that I'm a tad obsessed with Christmas. I pretty much think that January 1st to November 11th is just the time you get to prepare for Christmas! Once November 12th hits, it's game on for EVERYTHING Christmas! Tree comes out, baking starts, lights and decorations get put up, gifts that I've bought over the past 10 months get wrapped and put under the tree, Christmas tunes are playing, and Christmas DVDs are being watched, etc.
So, if I'm that into Christmas normally, I'm sure you can imagine how extra uber excited I was this year with it being Growly Bear's 1st Christmas! I had great plans this year! I knew I wanted to send out Christmas cards to all our family and friends (something I haven't done in years!). And I was extra excited that this year, I would be able to include an adorable little family photo of the 3 of us.
In October, I decided that it would be really fun to get our friend, who's a photographer, to take some professional photos of us. She did my maternity photos and Growly Bear's newborn photos, and I absolutely love them! So, I figured she'd be able to capture a nice family moment that we could share with all our loved ones.
Well, October came and went. So did November. Then, mid December hit and we started getting all these wonderful Christmas cards in the mail from our friends and family! Some had the great family photo in them that I was longing for, and I realized that it was now or never to get our family shot! Our photography friend was getting ready to go away for Christmas with her family though, and I really didn't want to bother her with a last minute shoot.
So, on December 12th, I decided we were on our own and that we could do it ourselves... with the help of my mom. I made my hubby shave, (a task in it's self!) and laid out matching clothes for us both (which he hated, but went along with because he's a good husband and he loves me. That, and it's easier to just go along with it then argue with me he's learned over the years). I got Growly Bear dressed up in her beautiful Christmas dress and shoes, and we were ready to go!
What I didn't count on though was my camera deciding that it no longer wanted to function properly, and Growly Bear pitching a fit (which she hardly ever does! Especially if she spots a camera!) Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened, and the results were as follows:
Maybe next year I will plan ahead, and actually follow through this time, and then some of you will receive a card and nice, happy, family photo in the mail.
Off to bed now. This working momma needs her beauty sleep.
So, till next time, Love and Hugs
