Day 1 went pretty well. We went shopping and spent a small fortune on high protein food, lots of green veggies, and CHEESE!
Day 2 wasn't so great. I was mean and nasty and really wanted Chocolate! Luckily, I had planned ahead and consumed all the left over Christmas chocolate in the entire house over the weekend (your welcome my husband with the sweet tooth!) so that there wouldn't be any temptations for either of us when we started this "eating plan" this week. But then, this Coffee Crisp magically emerged from it's hiding place on my bedside table! Seriously!? How did I miss that when I was on my chocolate eating rampage last week! I stared at it for a good 2 minutes whilst salivating and telling myself that no-one needed to know about it before I grabbed it and tossed it way back in the pantry in a very hard to get to spot. Take that delicious chocolate bar!
Day 3 I was feeling good, but it was hubby's turn to be mean. In his defense, he's never been on and "eating plan" before, so he didn't really know what to expect. And, he's got the worlds biggest sweet tooth, so going cold turkey on sugar was a bit of a shock to his system I'm sure. That paired with the fact that I don't think he was actually listening to me when I was reading him the dos and don'ts of our "eating plan" on Sunday night. He was busy watching a biker show, or trucker show or gold miner show, or something extremely masculine and boring like that. So, when a snack attack hit him mid afternoon, he didn't know what he was "allowed" to eat, and naturally, it was my fault. After consulting Mr. Google, we went on another grocery shopping spree, and spent a ridiculous amount on fatty food for the second time this week.
Day 4 was a pretty good day for both of us. Could have been because I stepped on the scale and discovered that I'd lost 6lbs so far! It's exciting and all, but considering I gained 8lbs (gasp!) over Christmas, I don't really think of it a loss yet. So far, I've only almost gotten back to where I started, and needed to loose weight from already anyway!
Day 5 is going great for me, but I think my poor husband's body has gone into shock. Poor thing was comatose in bed until noon today with a terrible headache! He's up and semi functioning now, but it was a rough start to the day for him.
All things considered, I think it's going very well. The fact that we are still married and love eachother is a pretty good sign! Check back next week to see if he's still living in the same house as me and Growly Brear!
Until then, Love and Hugs
