She's one of those crafty people with energy, and instead of just thinking about how cool something would be if she did such-and-such to it, she actually does it! The end result is always fabulous (at least from what I've seen. Although, I like to think she has a stash of crappy-projects-gone-wrong in her well organized basement), and therefore, her house kinda rocks.
After dinner last night, she showed me her latest toy. It's this fancy electronic cutter thing called a "Cricut" and I'd never seen one before. For those of you who don't know what they are, it's a little machine that you can put different cartridges loaded with font, images and designs into it, and then you feed the paper (or fabric for quilting, or vinyl for wall art!) in, tell it what you want it to do, and it cuts it out! I know my description is lame and doesn't do it justice, but it's wicked! Anyone who scrapbooks, makes cards, quilts, etc. would LOVE this thing! I think she said you can even get special paper for "tattoos"! I'm not kidding when I say this thing is SA-WEET!
I though that it was pretty cool on it's own, but THEN, she mentioned they make a "Circut Cake" machine for cake decorating, and cutting out cookies! After doing some Google'ing, I have come to the conclusion that my life won't possible be complete until I have one!
Seriously, who wouldn't want to make (and eat!) a cake like this!
In reality, I've decorated all of three cakes (or four if you count my cupcake cake) ever, and a few batches of whimsical cupcakes. While they turned out OK, and I had fun doing them, they were really nothing special and kinda looked like a small child with a short attention span made them. But with THIS fancy contraption, I could totally look like a rock star cake decorator! Plus, look at the adorable aprons they sell on their site! This could be me and Growly Bear in a few years!
Off to dream about beautiful cakes now.
