Can't believe we've been here for a week and a half already! I thought I would have blogged much more frequently while we were here, but I haven't had the time!
What an incredible place! We've had lazy beach days, tons of swimming and lounging, an awesome day of exploring, snorkeling, and body boarding, a little shopping, dancing, some of the most delicious food I have ever had, and more laughs and happy times then I can count. What an amazing adventure!
The locals here are wonderful! Children are cherished and treated so well. It was a little breezy the other day at our lunch location, and although the breeze was so warm to our standards, our sweet server was quite worried about Growly Bear being cold. He kept coming over and rubbing her arms, and touching her cheek to make sure she wasn't cold. We later found out that he himself is a young daddy, so it must have been his protective daddy instincts kicking in.
Everywhere we go people stop and talk to her, and want to touch her hair. She's so fair-haired compared to what they are used to, and with her dark tan, her streaks are really standing out. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's little miss personality, and calls out "Hiiii!" and sometimes "Ola!" to anyone that glances her way.
We spent this morning exploring the downtown markets, and found a couple cool things. I got a great deal on my Real Mexican Vanilla (the secret ingredient to all my baking! Shhh, don't tell!) and my hubby bought himself a beautiful hammock which was the one thing he really wanted to bring home. I still have my eyes peeled for a little something for Growly Bear's room, and a nice piece of jewellery for me.
All in all, paradise is pretty incredible! We are having the time of our lives, and are already talking about our next trip here. Now we just gotta talk my parents into tagging along...
