We leave in less then two weeks. I should be beyond excited, and I am, but, I've never been a good traveler. I hate all the work that goes into getting ready to go. I'm the worlds worst packer. I want to bring EVERYTHING! I hate leaving "things" behind. I'm a HUGE stress ball always in the lead up to the big day. Traveling with a small child, to a completely new country, only adds to that. Once we are packed and on the plane, I will be a happy, stress free camper (thanks to my ativan and vodka cocktail!) but I'm not quite to that stage yet. (Hey! Maybe I should mix myself one of those special cocktail right now!?)
Our hot water tank blew on Friday, flooding the bathroom (not such a big deal on lyno and weird paneling on the walls) and Growly Bears room (bad news for new laminate flooring and new drywall). Her room is currently filled with 2 huge dehumidifiers and a fan, and the baseboard heather has been cranked 24/7 since Saturday morning. (I'm dreading this months hydro bill!)
Her floor has been ripped up and needs to be replaced, and the bottom couple feet of drywall need to be removed and redone and painted, and new baseboards need to go in. That shouldn't be hard for my hubby to fit in between now and the 29th, with him working full time, and Christmas in the middle. Right?
Plus, I'm PMSing.
Clearly it hasn't been a great couple days.
And then yesterday, I find this on the kitchen floor...
Silly silly mommy. When will I learn?
The little cheese ball just laughed and laughed at me and gave me the hugest smiles, as I tried to tell her that drawing on the floor was naughty.
She seemed quite pleased with herself, and I could tell by her sideways little grin that she wasn't really sure if I was seriously scolding her, or just pretending, becasue she was obviously very proud of her drawing. I could tell she just knew that I would love it too. And of course I did! Just would have loved it even more if it was on some paper on my fridge, rather then in the middle of the floor.
But seriously, how can you get mad at this?
I'm one lucky mommy.
Today we took advantage of the first snow (and my new camera! Clearly, I'm still using how to use it) and we went outside and played, just the two of us. And it was so peaceful and wonderful.
Hope all of you have some perfect days over the Holiday Season!
Love and Hugs
