We've had a great start to Fall. Growly Bear is quite the little individual now and keeps me laughing (and running!) pretty much non stop. I'm not feeling near as house-bound as I was feeling this time last year.
The weather has been incredible, and we're getting lots of crisp, cold sunny days, and lots of outside time and fresh air.
I've discovered that it's much more enjoyable to entertain in the Fall then in the Summer! That unforgiving, glaring sun doesn't show up near as many dust doggies in the Fall as it does in the Summer. If you can time your guests arrival after dark, it's even better! My house currently is giving the illusion of being somewhat clean, and I love it! So long as no one shows up between that extremely bright time between noon and 4pm, we're good.
Just in time for Halloween, Growly Bear has developed a cute (terrifying!) little game of "see if we can scare Mommy!". Last week she somehow silently snuck up behind me and screamed a high pitched, top of her lungs, blood curtailing scream! I did what any good mother would do, and yelled "Holy $h*t!" at the top of my lungs before spinning around and bursting out laughing. Little terror thought it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen, and has been trying to sneak up on my and scare me ever since.
Another one of her tactics is sneaking up behind me, and talking to me in the "red rum" voice from The Shining. She seems to sense that it creeps me out to no end, so uses it at every chance she gets. I think we have a prankster on our hands!
Speaking of Halloween, we did our first Pumpkin Carving last night. It was a huge success, even thought Growly Bear insisted that it actually wasn't a pumpkin, it was "Nummy cheese!"
