I decided to do a quick house tidy this morning, so that we could head outside and enjoy our yard this afternoon. Turns out, there's no such thing as a "quick tidy" when you have a little person following you around the house, talking as loud as possible so that she will be heard over the vacuum, as she tries to climb onto it so she can go for a ride.
I really miss that Jumparoo that she's decided she's too big for....
Some things are much easier, like not having to worry about bringing bottles everywhere, or wearing nursing friendly outfits in public. It's nice that I can plunk her down and she can sit and entertain herself. It's fun that she can communicate and let me know when she's hungry, or tired, or that she's pooed. (Yup! That's one of her words - "Poop!" with a big smile). It's nice that she can play in the yard, and go on a swing, and crawl to whatever toy she wants to play with.
It's not so fun when I'm trying to vacuum or wash the floors and she wants to be part of it all. Or when I'm loading the dishwasher and she wants to pull all the dirty (sharp!) utensils out of the cutlery basket. Or when she pulls glasses/cups of milk/water/coffee (luckily cold!) off the coffee table and down on to her and all her toys.
So yeah, I'm still learning about this next stage. It's lotsa fun, and a helluva lotta work!
Thank goodness for some sunshine today though, cuz I was able to set her free in the yard to explore and eat grass and get filthy dirty and chase the dogs and burn off some of that never ending energy of hers. She even got to go for a cruise in her new car she got from her Great Nana for her Birthday.
If you haven't done so already, be sure to follow me on Facebook!
